2022 Cedar Creek Fire

The Cedar Creek Fire started on August 1, 2022, just a couple weeks before the 2022 race. It burned 127,311 acres west and north of the Waldo 100K course. Fortunately, only the very northern part of the course was in the burn perimeter. The race will be working with the USFS to get that part of the course open before the race. It is possible we may have to make a minor modification to that part of the course but we won’t know until the snow melts and we can get in and do the hazard mitigation work. In addition to that northern section, the Fuji Mtn trail was used as a fire break. We are told by the USFS that after it was repaired it is in better shape than it was pre-fire. Other than those two areas the fire missed the Waldo course.

If you would like to help get the trails ready for the race, please signup for one, two, or all three days of our annual trail work weekend on July 14-16, 2023.
